Hi Drive Approaches its Destination

Last week (4th and 5th June 2025) the Hi Drive Consortium met in Athens for its 3rd and final General Assembly. Representatives from all project partners gathered from across Europe to reflect on progress and align on the final steps ahead. The University of Leeds was represented by our Virtuocity Academic Lead Prof Natasha Merat, Associate Prof Mahdi Rezaei and Dr Courtney Goodridge with Natasha and Courtney reporting on Leeds' progress as the project approaches completion. The group also supported the event's theme of developing the final event’s concept and storyline which aims to present the project’s broad range of outcomes and key messages in a compelling and coherent way.

Hi-Drive is an EU funded project that seeks to "advance the European state-of-the-art of automated driving from SAE L3 ‘Conditional Automation’ further up towards ‘High Automation’ by demonstrating in large-scale trials the robustness and reliability of CAD functions. It focuses on testing and evaluating variety of functionalities, from motorway chauffeur to urban chauffeur, explored in diverse scenarios with heterogeneous driving cultures across Europe."

The weather will be very different but we are planning a very exciting final event in Brussels on 25th November 2025. - More information to follow on this in the coming weeks!
